Thailand’s representatives resist the plan that Chinese government want to build the dams on the lower Mekong river in Vietnam that would destroy the river’s ecosystem. Prasarn Maruekpithak and Surajit Chiraveth were invited to attend a workshop in Vietnam Ho Chi Minh city which assess the negative impacts likely to cause by China’s dams projects. The meeting concerned four points – to break the dam projects, to study of the possible impacts, to build a dam as pilot project, and to move ahead with plans to build 12 dams. Thailand representatives resist all 12 dam project for prevent the negative impacts in the future. The representatives from Vietnam were agreed because their country would be affected the most. Laos representatives had backed the third point, while the Cambodians would study more about the details of the projects. China’s four dams on the upper part of the Mekong River have already destroyed the river’s ecosystem. But now this nation still plans to build 12 dams more on the lower part of the river. No one can imagine how much it would destroy the fertility of the areas in countries through which the Mekong river flows.
In my opinion we should protect our environment because now in our world has a lot of problem to solve. So we have to conserve our world. We don't improve too much but we dont destroy our world too. The way that representtatives do is the best way that they can do.
