Somchai: Thaksin still healthy

Former prime minister Somchai Wongsawat said Thaksin Shinawatra is still strong and healthy. The former Thai leader called him on the telephone to wish his happy birthday when he got 63. He said Thaksin is staying silent at this time because he want the country to be peace and didoesn't want to be a political issue. Asked about Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya's visit to Montenegro, Mr Somchai said if the visit was truly to tighten relations between the two countries. Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban this morning denied reports Mr Kasit was in Montenegro to hunt down Thaksin. He said Mr Kasit would explain "the facts" about Thaksin to the Montenegro authorities, who may well have heard only one side of the story, and the purpose was to strengthen ties.

In my opinion if you heard something. You can't trust it immidiately. You have to analyze first because you can't know which one is the truth. So if you don't analyze first and trust about something wrong, maybe it can makes some mistake for you.

PM: Election when peace takes place

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said the fresh election could happen after the situation return to normal. He respond to a report that he has refrained from dissolving the House of Representatives that fear about the fresh general election would never happen. A general election will happen when the country has peace. If he don't dissolves this problem first. There is a risk that the situation will happen again. There were a lot of examples in many countries that the election holding had brought about social division and violence instead of democracy. This lead to a fail in holding an election.

In my opinion his idea is very well because if he don't dissolve this problem first. This problem will be a bigger problem. So all parties must help to lead to bring about peace to the country.

Union wants hire-purchase bus fleet

This news is about the Bangkok Mass Transit needs the NGV-powered air-conditioned buses to transport, but the transport worker prefer another way is to rent better than buy. The union would go to submit this suggestion with prime minister Trairong Suwannakhiri who is going straight to the latest cabinet committee to review the Transport Ministry's bus leasing project. He said that if the governments make a plan to give free bus for people they could buy 2,000 hot buses, and the others 2,000 could be air-conditioned for commercial service.

I think they should buy better than lent because our countries have to pay a lot of money to rent many buses and then when the leasing time is over, they have to take the buses back. In the other hands, if they buy it own, they do not have to take the buses back, but they would derive it own for good.

Airport Link to open for business

The Airport Link connecting Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi airport will begin commercial services next Monday. Airport link’s express service and city line systems will run every 15minutes from 6am to 12pm. The express service is a non-stop line the fare is 100 baht per trip. And the city line will stop at 8 stations from Phayathai to airport. Its fares start at 15 baht. The baggage handling system is still in a testing period but will open before the end of this year. People with many bags may have some problems during this period. And the transport ministry’s project to rent 4,000NGV buses for 64billion baht will plan in the end of this month, should complete in two months.

In my opinion, in Thailand should have more public transports because nowadays a lot of people use their own cars. So we have to campaign to invite people to use public transports instead of use their own cars to solve the traffic problem and reduce energy loss.

Thailand opposes lower Mekong dams

Thailand’s representatives resist the plan that Chinese government want to build the dams on the lower Mekong river in Vietnam that would destroy the river’s ecosystem. Prasarn Maruekpithak and Surajit Chiraveth were invited to attend a workshop in Vietnam Ho Chi Minh city which assess the negative impacts likely to cause by China’s dams projects. The meeting concerned four points – to break the dam projects, to study of the possible impacts, to build a dam as pilot project, and to move ahead with plans to build 12 dams. Thailand representatives resist all 12 dam project for prevent the negative impacts in the future. The representatives from Vietnam were agreed because their country would be affected the most. Laos representatives had backed the third point, while the Cambodians would study more about the details of the projects. China’s four dams on the upper part of the Mekong River have already destroyed the river’s ecosystem. But now this nation still plans to build 12 dams more on the lower part of the river. No one can imagine how much it would destroy the fertility of the areas in countries through which the Mekong river flows.

In my opinion we should protect our environment because now in our world has a lot of problem to solve. So we have to conserve our world. We don't improve too much but we dont destroy our world too. The way that representtatives do is the best way that they can do.
